"Constitutional Issues Facing the Trump Administration"

Stephen B. Presser is the Raoul Berger Professor of Legal History Emeritus at Northwestern University's Pritzker School of Law, where he has taught since the fall of 1977. He is a leading American Legal Historian and an expert on shareholder liability for corporate debts. His casebook on American Legal History, Law and Jurisprudence in American History was the first of its kind, has remained a leading text, and has been used at approximately fifty law schools and undergraduate history departments. His treatise on Piercing the Corporate Veil, originally published in 1991, and revised annually, was the first one-volume treatment on the subject in fifty years and has now attained the status of a leading authority on the subject.

Professor Presser is a frequent commentator on constitutional law, is the co-author of a casebook on the subject, has testified many times before Congressional committees, and his work on impeachment was quoted by Henry Hyde in the opening speech beginning impeachment proceedings against President Clinton. He wrote a number of op-eds for CNN.com in the course of the deliberations over the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and did multiple television and radio appearances to discuss the PPACA.

Presser latest book, a group biographical study of law professors, was published in late 2016. He had a joint appointment with Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management, where he served as a professor of Strategy. Professor Presser created a course for Kellogg's highly­ ranked Executive Master's Program, Law and the Manager, which is now a required part of that program. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School and was twice a Senior Fulbright Scholar to the United Kingdom.
